Amelia Jones, LPC, LICDC
I use a holistic approach to therapy that focuses on methods like EMDR, biofeedback, mindfulness, and DBT. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can share their thoughts and feelings. Together, we work toward their personal goals and overall well-being.
Experience:
Throughout my studies, I gained practical experience through internships and volunteer work, allowing me to work with different populations and address various mental health issues, including complex PTSD, anxiety, suicidality, ADHD, depression, and substance abuse.
Special Interests:
I am particularly interested in connecting trauma symptoms to current mental health issues and how they affect daily life. I enjoy helping clients discover new interests and hobbies, make lifestyle changes, and incorporate movement into their routines. I am committed to ongoing education to stay current with research and techniques that benefit my clients.
Personal Interests:
In my free time, I enjoy endurance sports like long-distance running, triathlons, weight lifting, hiking, kayaking, and swimming. I also like cooking, baking, spending time with family (including my three Bengal cats), and traveling. I enjoy researching new topics in counseling and trauma therapy, which helps me maintain a balanced life, which is essential for effective therapy.
